Climbing Events
Weekend "Trips"
These are
loosely organized weekend climbing - rock and ice - excursions to various
locations in New England. The trips are not for beginners, and are not
instructional trips. You should know how to climb and have your own
gear. We do not hook people up with partners unless someone has indicated
they are looking for one. The schedule is in the
Crux.
These are not official AMC "trips", so are not published in the AMC
Magazine.
Tuesday Night Climbing
From April until September there is climbing at different local crags
after work north and west of Boston. Since there are no large climbing
areas within an easy drive, the location rotates among a series of smaller
sites according to a schedule. Everyone is welcome, including beginners,
but we cannot provide safety instruction, so if you are not confident
of your belaying skills, please bring your own instructor.
The sharing of ropes
is encouraged, and dinner is usually organized at a local spot. This
is not an official Mountaineering Committee function, but is a great
way to meet people and go climbing. Email Bill Atkinson at
watkinson@compuserve.com
for a schedule of climbing areas or check out the schedule
online.
Wednesday Night Climbing at Quincy Quarries
Same as Tuesday night climbing, but at one of the largest and most well-known
local crags south of Boston.
