Getting to Mohonk Preserve
From/To Campsite
Left out of Epworth on Lucas Turnpike 3/4 mi to a left onto Alligerville Rd, across Rondout Creek, immediate L onto Berme, right onto Rose Hill Rd in 200’, right onto Clove Rd Extension at ¾ mile, right at the T onto Clove Rd, continuing ~4 miles past Split Rock to 299/44/55. Take left and the Trapps lot will soon be on the left.
Other way: From the West Trapps lot, go W on 299, then immediately right on Clove Road, past the Split Rock swimming area, and continuing ~4 miles to the first left, Clove Road Extension. Turn left here, then after ¼ mile bear left on Rose Hill Rd. Follow this for ~1 mile, then turn left onto Berme Rd for ~200 feet, then turn right onto Alligerville Rd and immediately cross Rondout Creek. Take the next right (Lucas Turnpike) for ¾ mile to the Epworth Center entrance on your right.
From New Paltz
Travel west on Rt. 299 through New Platz. Continue on Rt. 299 until it ends at the junction with Routes 44/55.
EMS and the Mountain Brauhaus are located where 299 meets routes 44/55. Continue north on routes 44/55. You will pass a severe hairpin turn (5 MPH!!) and then pass under a steel bridge. The entrance to the West Trapps parking lot is on the right just past the steel bridge.
